The Point

GOODNESS AGAINST GREED

as small communities in NSW get hit by rampant misapplication of the State’s Seniors Living Policy to approve Inappropriate Development.

How it Was before the POINT – Western Hill side protected

“How to Destroy the Character and Environment of a Coastal Hamlet in one Foul Swoop!!!”

“Building A” – Still Buildings B to G to go – “Is this a JOKE – Apparently NOT!”
Destroys the character and environment of Hastings Point.

Building B goes up just to add to the monstrosity –
What a lovely concrete jungle for our elderly to live in – no room for trees or birds – just an impermeable block of concrete to pollute our estuary.

“Hastings’ New Gold Coast Entrance “A concrete jungle is NOT for Hastings Point”

“Buildings A and B” together – front side only.
Size and Scale Ridiculous for Hastings Point.
LEP breached, Coastal Design Guidelines Breached, Far North Coast Regional Stragegy Breached.  But no worry – LET”S BUILDDDDD!
Shame on Administrators, Former Tweed Director of Planning (Hodges), Tweed Planners, the POINT developers, Hutchinson Builders and Westpac.

“Building C is on its way – Developers say they won’t hit water table and authorities believed them – haha – Woops!
Underground carparks in Hastings Point interfere with water tables and the health of our estuary, but developers and Council don’t care.

Sunday 7th February, 2010 – The car park is flooded after a bit of rain .  Imagine when we get a lot of rain -Does your car insurance cover you against this????

Buildings C – “We do everything by the Book!”
Lets pump it straight out – no-one will see!  Developer gets sprung pumping acid sulphate contamined water as they hit water table.

Pumping contaminated acid sulphate contamined water back into sandy soil on the same site -  Great Solution Einsteins -
Yet the Council went for it!  Ended up in the estuary.  Our Western Hill also disappeared behind the monstrosity of Building C.

The Point’s new 50 m acid sulphate petroleum contaminated swimming pool.
What a joke – this was pumped back into another hole at the back of the site only 15 m from the estuary.  It leaked and ended up in the estuary.
Thanks developers/council – good job.

Respect our community and our environment for the children. Hastings Point must be protected.  No more monstrosity’s.  No more concrete jungles.

Save it Don’t Pave It!  This is the point.
